Missing my characters and other junk

November was an insane month.

I decided to partake in my first NaNoWriMo and it was a success. I finally finished the third book in my series and wrote a bit of the fourth. I promised myself and my family that I'd take December off since I'd basically spent the entire month of November in a coffee shop, but it's been pretty hard.

Idea after idea has been jumping in my head and to top it off, the stories I put on pause are demanding to be written. I actually woke up one morning with a scene so vivid that I had to write it down, therefore kind of breaking my rule. I'm not proud I caved, but glad I jotted the quick thought down.

I'm currently in a crappy mood and the only reason that I've come up with is that I am actively ignoring my characters. Or it could be that I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Since I'm new to this whole game, I wonder how other writers deal with hiatuses from the craft. Are they able to clear their mind and focus on life stuff or are their characters constantly poking at them?

In other news...

Chain messages are the bane of my existence. Even as I type this I have just received another. I understand the thought behind them, but seriously people stop. I've had to mute some people because they never send me a hello or hi, just those messages...family included. I don't understand the lure of these things. Can someone explain it to me?

Another day, another post

An author I know wrote this whole blog post about Time Management and it got me to thinking. How fast would I actually write if I ever used similar practices?

I'm the type of write who doesn't usually plot things out, some call it being a pantser, I consider it being a free spirit. I like structure to a certain extent, but there is just something freeing about allowing my random thoughts to wander and eventually turn into a story.

For example, the other night I was in bed on the verge of sleep when all of a sudden this scene popped into my head. Did I get a notebook and write down the idea? Nope, I decided to write the entire scene out until two or three am.

Back to time management...I have none.

There are so many things I'd like to write and/or finish, but I have little time to do them. Being married and working full time don't allow me the freedom to do it as often as I would like. I counted the other day and I have about four stories in process and seven more that I have yet to start!

I'll eventually get to them...one day. I can only go at my own pace and hope for the best. I do have some finished things and hope to share them with the world soon :)

Why is editing so painful?

Pretty sure I'm on the I hate myself stage and moving close to the I'll never make it. Plus side.. Just came up with a new idea randomly. Sent it to a friend and it gave her "chills." Will I ever get to it? Who knows. I have at least 5 or 6 partially written things and two finished. I need to move to an island with no distractions so I can finish them..damn you Facebook!

RANDOM POST OF THE DAY :)

I like big books and I cannot lie.....

I recently went to the RT Convention and had an amaze balls time. I ended up meeting a crap load of authors, aspiring authors and bloggers alike I also added more books to my growing collection. I find that the more signings I go to, the bigger it gets. I may need an intervention soon! Do you find yourself ordering hard copies, audio and e-copies of the same book or is it just me?

What I write...

I am a romance novel junkie and I need a fix every day. There is just something about those types of stories that pull me in. The base of the story may remain the same to an extent, but I love the spin that each author places on it. I can only hope to become as good as some of my favorites.

Why I write...

Short answer: It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Longer answer: I enjoy it. I have so many outlandish things going on in my brain at one time or another and one day, I needed them to come out. Sometimes they're funny and other times pretty scary.
